Laurysen is thrilled to announce that we left the National Kitchen and Bath Association Ottawa awards ceremony with a grand total of 6 awards! We’re going to need a little more room on our trophy shelf soon, as we’ve recently won the Houzz Best of 2016 for Design and our 20th Consumers Choice Award.
1st Place: Classic/Traditional Bathrooms $25,000 – $39,999 AND People’s Choice Award for Best Bathroom
Wael Bakr combines traditional elegance with a few nods to modern style in this design that earned him two awards. Note the extra storage cabinets right beside the vanity, and the tranquil bathing zone that offers both natural light and privacy.
1st Place: Classic/Traditional Kitchens $40,000 – $59,999
In this kitchen, designer Heather Tardioli keeps things bright, fresh and inspiring. She incorporated effective kitchen zoning but still kept the space open and connected. Note the areas for preparation, cooking and serving.
1st Place: Other Rooms in the House
Designer Natasha Nash made this wine bar into a sommelier’s dream come true. The tiling on the sides of the bar help to integrate the tasting area seamlessly into the rest of the home.
2nd Place: Modern/Contemporary Kitchens $20,000 – $39,999
One of the newest designers on the team, Elnaz Shahrokhi shows her contemporary design flare with this tranquil kitchen that makes excellent use of space, incorporating an informal gathering area where friends can help with the prep work or just enjoy a snack.
People’s Choice Award for Best Kitchen
This design earned Wael Bakr his third award of the evening. It is not only chic and simple, but it proves that a galley kitchen layout can still be stunning.
