At Laurysen Kitchens, our journey has always been marked by a warm, welcoming, and family-oriented spirit. This year, that spirit has undeniably grown as we embark on a new chapter of growth and innovation.

A New State-Of-The-Art Manufacturing Plant

The excitement revolves around our new manufacturing plant, currently under construction in Carlton Place. It’s set to provide us with a generous 100,000 square feet of space—almost doubling our current capacity.

This expansion, slated for completion in 2024, will not only allow us to introduce cutting-edge equipment but also significantly increase our production capacity. As a result, we’ll be better equipped to meet the ever-growing demand for Laurysen’s products, reduce lead times and keep costs in check.

“Laurysen Kitchens is committed to providing high-quality kitchens, cabinets, vanities and closets at an affordable price,” said our CEO, Caroline Castrucci. “Over the past five years, we have experienced a surge in demand in our markets across the province. This state-of-the-art expansion of our manufacturing facility in Carleton Place will allow us to increase production, develop new processes and continue to grow our well-established business. The support we have received from the Ontario government has helped make this dream a reality; we are very proud to be Ontario-made.”

Ontario Government Support

We’ve invested over $26 million in this project, and the provincial government, recognizing its merit and positive impact on the community, has partnered with us to execute this monumental task. We’re immensely proud and grateful to have received over two million dollars in government funding through the Regional Development Program’s East Ontario Development Fund (EODF).

This summer, John Jordan, MPP Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston, Goldie Ghamari, MPP Carleton, and Toby Randell, Mayor of Carleton Place, visited Laurysen to make the funding announcement and tour our facility.

“Our government is building a strong Ontario and strengthening the economy,” noted Ghamari in a media release after the event. “Key investments like this transcend local impact and will benefit the entire region.”

She added that the investment will “create better-paying jobs for workers to support families” and “benefit homeowners and developers the company works with throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, as Laurysen continues to deliver nationally award-winning designs and craftsmanship while providing customer service and building relationships as only a generations-old family business can do.”

Supporting Our Community

Ever since 1970, when John and Adri Laurysen began crafting exceptional cabinetry from their garage, giving back to the community has been a core value. So, the fact that this expansion will ultimately create 20 new, well-paying jobs couldn’t make us happier.

Mayor Toby Randall of Carleton Place echoes this feeling. In an article featured in Wood Industry magazine, he spoke about the project’s positive impact on Carleton Place.

“When you live in a small town and a building the size of what’s being built there pops up on the horizon, it’s truly overwhelming” and “helps legitimize Carleton Place as a growing community.”

He added that “[Laurysen Kitchens] will be one of the bigger businesses in Carleton Place, and the fact that they chose to move their facility from a city like Ottawa to a smaller community like Carleton Place, that they see a benefit a growing in Carleton Place, it’s not lost on the council, it’s not lost on the citizens of Carleton Place. We are blessed to have a family-run business that screams integrity and quality.”

Continuing A Legacy

We are so proud to expand our family-owned and operated company, now with second and third-generation Laurysens— Bill, Caroline, Corey, and Michael—at the helm.

The foundation of our success has always been the unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and quality, a legacy upheld by John Laurysen. This commitment remains at the heart of everything we do, and our new facility promises to elevate these standards even further.

We are so proud of our family-owned and operated company, now with second and third-generation Laurysens— Bill, Caroline, Corey, and Michael—at the helm. All of us frequently visit the new production facility site to witness its progress firsthand.
We can’t wait to welcome you there soon!
