Design and Construction Organization Memberships
Laurysen Kitchens is a proud member of the following professional organizations:

These organizations all have professional codes of conduct to which we gladly adhere. It’s all a key part of the culture of quality which has been the cornerstone of our values since we began in 1972.
Eco-Friendly Water-Based Finishes:
Laurysen Kitchens has transitioned to 100% water-based cabinet finishes.
These stains, lacquers, and topcoats have the same luxurious finish as solvent-based products. The benefit of water-based finishing system is it allows us to reduce our VOC emissions. The topcoats are cured using UV light and have an added antimicrobial protection to combat mold and other harmful bacteria.
CARB 2-Compliant Materials:
At Laurysen Kitchens, we believe every space in your home deserves the highest standards of craftsmanship and care. Whether we’re creating cabinetry for your kitchen, bathroom, walk-in closet, mudroom, laundry room, or home gym, we use only CARB 2-compliant materials that prioritize your family’s health.
CARB 2 certification means our particleboard and MDF meet California’s rigorous Phase 2 standards—part of the Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) and recognized as some of the strictest formaldehyde emission regulations in effect. Formaldehyde, commonly used in wood adhesives, can impact indoor air quality over time. Our certified materials ensure minimal off-gassing, so you can breathe easier in every room.
But we’re not just protecting air quality, we’re protecting forests too. Our MDF holds both FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and ECC (Eco-Certified Composite) certifications and is crafted entirely from pre-consumer recycled wood fibre. This means fewer trees are harvested and less waste is sent to landfills, all while delivering the premium quality Laurysen is known for.
Modern Facilities:
Fall 2025 marked a defining moment for Laurysen Kitchens: we moved our manufacturing operations to a fully integrated 110,000 sq. ft. facility in Carleton Place, Ontario. This isn’t just a larger space; it’s a purpose-designed headquarters that elevates everything we produce.
Our Carleton Place facility represents a significant investment in both capacity and capability. Equipped with cutting-edge technology—including automated storage and retrieval systems, precision panel saws, and advanced edgebanders—we’ve enhanced accuracy while minimizing material waste. Additionally, our automated case clamps apply exacting pressure to ensure every cabinet is perfectly squared and securely assembled, and our orbital wrapping system efficiently groups and protects them for safe transit.
The environmental advantages are equally impressive. Our automated spray lines significantly reduce overspray, our nesting technology maximizes every inch of sheet material, and our integrated dust collection system captures and recycles wood particles that would otherwise contribute to landfill waste. Combined with an aggressive facility-wide recycling program, these systems allow us to produce exceptional cabinetry while continuously reducing our environmental footprint.
Planning a project? While our Carleton Place facility will soon feature an on-site showroom, Ottawa-area clients can explore Laurysen’s full capabilities at our Design Experience Centre on Colonnade Road.
Continuous investment. Continuous improvement. That’s been the Laurysen approach for decades, and our new facility demonstrates we’re more committed than ever to building a greener, more innovative future.
